My name is Alan Miles. I trade as Amba Limited to provide a wide range of services to clients as a Business Process Engineer, developer, and for some clients as their part-time IT Manager. I am very comfortable in bridging the gap between IT and business professionals, and will serve as a mediator, translator, and facilitator.
I have over 30 years of experience across quite diverse areas of computer technology, and as a Microsoft Partner since the 1990s, I have kept right up to date with all the latest in technologies available to businesses. I have the ability to understand management issues, and to communicate ideas in non-technical terms.
|
I prefer to develop a close relationship with my customers ... to be more than just a supplier ... to be a trusted ally and have the satisfaction of seeing what I do make a real difference for the better.
Throughout my career to date, there have been two solid themes ... Automation and Integration.
Innovation is required in every aspect of business today, so that you stand out from the rest, for product and service quality and design. Work with me to get a clearer understanding of your business processes and identify possible areas for improvement.

If you need someone who can get their head around how technology can enhance your business, then I’m your man. If it is important to you to get something done, I will work to find the most effective and economic way to make it happen. I’m known to find solutions to problems where others have failed. As a result I have become a valuable “Jack of all trades”, as well as being a specialist in a few areas.

I am passionate about solving business challenges and applying the appropriate technologies. I am a good listener, an analytical thinker, an effective communicator, and can be diplomatic when I need to be. These attributes mean that I can formulate solutions to problems and guide a project to success.
I get great satisfaction from helping a project succeed and work hard to ensure that this happens. I love what I do and know that what I have to offer is valuable in today’s ever-changing business environment.
For virtually all my career to date I have been a shareholder, director and employee of businesses I have established. So although I am a “technician” first and foremost, I have a much broader perspective and the experience to recognise the real needs of business. Also, most of the background details I have provided are in the context of working my businesses with many client companies at the same time. With some companies (like Levco Agencies and Holdfast NZ) I was considered to be part of their management team.
